Dear Birth Parent,

We are honored that you are taking time to read our blog. We are thrilled at the prospects of adopting again. We have two children Rylie (age 11-biological) and Owen (age 6-adopted). Our greatest blessings and joy come through the privilege we have had in being parents to these fantastic kids. Because we have experienced both the miracle of a biological birth and that of adoption we know that the heart knows no difference. Our family is created through a caring Heavenly Father who knows by what means we are to be reunited here on Earth. After the adoption of our son Owen we thought our family was complete. Recently we discovered that is is not. We can feel a void and know that once again through the unconditional love of adoption our family will once again feel whole. We are so grateful for strong, courageous people such as yourself who love beyond understanding so that families like ours can be created. We anticipate the day we get to meet the newest member of our family. We have no preconceived notions about what this child will be like. We are open to all genders, race, ethnicity, special needs, and disabilities. We are also willing to discuss the openness of our adoption. We currently send pictures and letters to Owen's birth mother and are willing to discuss your needs and wants for this adoption.

About us:

We have been married for about 12 years. We were married in the LDS Portland, Or Temple. We are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon). We have lived in the Northwest for about 7 years and we love it. We love the trees and the mountains and especially all the fun activities we get to enjoy in this part of the country.
We are an active family. We love to be outdoors and moving our bodies. Stuart enjoys road and mountain biking. Our family also enjoys biking together. We don’t ride quite as fast as Stuart, but he slows the pace on family rides. =) As a couple we like working out together and love the morning workout we share (in the living room) before the kids wake up. We love hiking and camping. We have also enjoyed coaching our kids' soccer and basketball teams. If our bodies are moving, we’re happy.

One of our favorite moments in the day is family dinner. The day is not complete without it. And no it’s not because Jenni is a wonderful cook. Stuart wishes we could say that. =) It’s because we get to reconnect with one another, find out how everyone’s day went, and bonus, there is always a lot of laughter. It’s not usually a quiet or proper time, but it’s a treasured time. We are definitely not a ridged, serious family. Casual would be a good word to describe us. Our goal is for our home to be inviting, comfortable, humorous, and full of love. We think thus far we are doing pretty well.

Stuart has been an elementary school teacher for the past 7 years and is currently working as an Instructional Coach (teacher to teachers) in an elementary school. He recently graduated with his Masters and is waiting for the perfect principal job to open up. He is an attentive father and is happiest when playing and wrestling with the kids.

Jenni is and always has been a stay-at-home-mom, or as she would say a domestic engineer. She loves the decision her and Stuart made before they were married to have her stay home and raise their children. No amount of money could ever be enough to replace the payments of hugs and kisses she receives from her kids.

Rylie (age 10 biological) is a spitfire and we love her for it. She’s caring and compassionate and will make the best second mom to our new addition. She loves to read and play soccer. She has a personality that commands attention and she leads in positive ways.

Owen (age 6 adopted) can light up even the darkest room. He is quirky, kind, creative, and hilarious. We’ve met no one funnier than him. He sees the world in ways that have opened up our vision and enhanced our experience here on Earth.

We have been so blessed in our lives. We’ve learned that our timing has not always been the Lord’s timing, but His timing has always been better. And our ways have not always been His ways, but His ways have always been better. We adore the children we currently have and are excited to swoon over another one. We will embed in your child's heart a love of their “tummy mommy” and birth father just like we’ve done with Owen. We have so much love and respect for you. Owen’s birth mother and father are permanently etched into our hearts as you will be also. Yours is a gift we can never repay, but will be eternally grateful for.

Love Always and Forever,

Stuart and Jenni

Here we are on a few of our many adventures.  We  love to hike.

Reading is really important to us.
Stuart is always reading something.  Rylie can burn through books in record speed.  Owen has just began to read fluently on his own and it's thrilling for us to watch him discover a whole new world.  Jenni is a lover of children's literature.

We love going to the beach.
Every year we head to Long Beach in Washington to see the kite festival.

Stuart went on a bike ride with Jenni's dad, brother, and uncle.
They rode from Washington to California.
 Pretty impressive.
The kids love riding the carousel.  Me too!!!

When it snows where we live we are sure to be outside first thing in the morning.
It usually melts by afternoon so we have to make the most of it while we have it.

We had so much fun at this race for autism.  The kids had a fun run and then Stuart and Jenni ran a 5K.  It was both of our first times running in a race.  We didn't train at all.  Half way through we were both wishing we did.  Mainly Jenni.  With that said we both finished 2nd in our age groups.

Here's some photos of our cuties.  We just can't get enough of them.

We LOVE Halloween.  Jenni loves dressing her kids up in fun costumes.  The more creative the better.  She makes all of their costumes.
She's totally anti-store bought.  The kid's costumes have even won some contests.
We are best friends.  We couldn't imagine going through life without each other.
The inside of Stuart's wedding band reads "Eternal Buddies" and that's just what we are.

This picture was taken while visiting Stuart's parents in California.
As soon as Stuart gets home from work the kids pounce.  They love their dad so much and "tickle time" is a favorite activity.
